Violence against women is a global issue and one Vancouver Company is dedicated to making a difference.

The women at Deliss Chocolate in Vancouver BC are committed to helping women change their lives. Empowering women that have been victimized is a passion for Shadi Javadi and Ramona Nordal. They were inspired by a combination of social conscience and a love of chocolate to create the My Therapy Bar.

Dark Chocolate Can Change a Life

Dark Chocolate has amazing health benefits. It is extremely high in antioxidants and studies have shown that it can help reduce blood pressure. Now there is another reason to reach for this sensual treat. The "I Love Myself" chocolate bar from Deliss chocolate is made of high quality ingredients and something more. Each bar has an inspirational message inside. Part of the proceeds from every bar purchased goes to support various womens charities.

The "Look at me now" bar is milk chocolate and hazelnut bits while the "I will survive" bar is milk chocolate. All of the chocolate bars in the My Therapy Bar collection contain inspirational thoughts on a take along card as part of the packaging. The intention is to inspire the women that purchase the chocolate bars and allow abused women internationally to create new lives for themselves.

The goal of My Therapy Bars is ``Changing Generations One Woman at a Time.`` The dream is that through education and support women everywhere can one day live lives of fulfillment and respect.

Women for Women International

The makers of My Therapy Bars use some of the proceeds from every bar purchased to help support international women`s charities. One of the main groups they support is Women for Women International. This is an international group working in areas like Rwanda, Iraq and Kosovo. They are attempting to assist women in war torn areas to go ``From victim to survivor to active citizen``.

They are focused on physical and mental health. Teaching women to help prevent disease and avoid cultural practices that are harmful to them.

Educating women gives them skills so that they have a voice in both family and community decisions. Being educated and having access to resources allows women the self confidence to exercise their decision making abilities.

The program through Women for Women International teaches women skills that will allow them to sustain an income. Studies have shown that 90% of women reinvest their earnings in their families and communities.

One of the most important resources that the program gives women is the ability to grow and maintain social support networks. With the support of these networks behind them women are empowered to change their lives and the lives of others.

Eating Chocolate can Help Stop Violence Against Women

By creating products like My Therapy Bars women are finding unique and non-aggressive ways to reach out and help each other. In a win, win situation My Therapy Bars allow the purchaser to not only contribute to a global movement to stop violence against women but they also give the purchaser an inspiring thought to help empower themselves.
